Joel is a Thame-based artist, working in the unique medium of hand-cut vinyl. The use of vinyl allows Joel to produce contemporary Pop Art-style renditions of iconic road and race cars in bright, bold colours, that also have the same 'finish' as that of the real car. Although working with a modern material, Joel manages to marry it with traditional skills by creating every picture purely by hand - with not even a ruler being permitted!
Speed Icons has been commissioned by such names as Lewis Hamilton, Lexus, Renault F1, The Road Rat, BRM, Kingsley Cars, and Porsche Club UK, to name just a few.
