Aylesbury Soapbox Derby, organised by Aylesbury Town Council, runs every year on Fathers' Day, and offers a great day out for families. Various groups and organisations build karts and race along the track in three timed runs. The winner is announced at the end of the day, and there is also a prize for the best looking-kart,
This year, as well as the races, there were food vendors to keep the crowds fed and watered, plus various local organisations with their stalls. Children were entertained with crafts and giant bubble making.
Haddenham Classics put on a show of four cars to suit all tastes. There was great interest in our classic motors, particularly from children wanting to sit in the cars. We also had people interested in our club.
The weather was fine and the day was a great success all round.
Many thanks to Andrew Napier, Adrian Bull, Nick Heer and David Ridgeway for bringing their fantastic cars and helping out with the day. We may return next year.
